  • Evaluation of Our Models - Weekly Projections

When we build models, we apply standard evaluation metrics against a holdout dataset (data not used in any action related to the model building) to evaluate performance. Once we have what we think is “good” performance, we compare the results of the players in our hold out dataset to their actual fantasy performance and the fantasy performance of 2 other sites, ESPN and 4for4. The overall dataset we have for ESPN and 4for4 is not complete, so we filter down to just the players that exist in all three sets of data.

  • Thoughts, Results and Recap from my Drafts

After an extremely busy weekend filled with a 16 team .5 PT PPR draft, and a 12 team 1 keeper .5 PT PPR money league draft, I have some interesting notes, comparisons, and shockers from both. I used a draft strategy taking 4 RBs, then 4 WRs, then filled my bench with more RBs and WRs before ending my drafts with a QB, TE, DEF, then K.

  • 2019 Draft Guide - Sterling Edition

Welcome Russian bots, cyborgs, Canadians, or (insert word here to describe yourself). I am Canadian, so I will just call you all football friends regardless of who you are. I asked Andy (mediocre blogger at Gridiron AI) and the team to put together stats for me and compare them to some of the big sites like CBS and FantasyPros to see how the GridironAI ranks in comparison. This data allows me to create 3 different draft strategies to try and outsmart your fantasy football competition. For each of the draft strategies, I put the top 200 players and provided the auction values and ADP (courtesy of FantasyPros).

  • 2019 Yearly Rankings - In Graphs

Tables of data are great, graphs of data are better. In this article, we present plots of our position projections for PPR and STD while adding in FantasyPro projections and a blended score.

  • Kyle Eller's Rookie Report

Rookies in fantasy football are some of the hardest players to project. There is no data to really tell how they will project and perform against equal talent and now that they are getting paid. With that said, there is ALWAYS a rookie that takes the fantasy world by storm and wins multiple fantasy teams their league's championship, ala Cam Newton, Saquon Barkley, Juju Smith-Schuster. So I have a few rookies that I think will personally outplay their projections and could potentially boom.
