The Panthers have alternated winning and losing every game for the past 10 games. They lost last week, so they are due to win. Ok, that's not the reason that I'm betting them, it's just an interesting snippet. I'm actually shocked at this line. I know the Bucs are at home, but I think the Panthers are the better team. The Bucs are in complete free fall, losing 7 of their last 8 games, with their lone win being by 3 points over the lowly Cardinals. These teams played 2 weeks ago in Carolina, and the Panthers won 23-20. It always makes me nervous backing Bryce Young, because I think he's one of the worst QBs in the league, and why the Panthers rank 25th in passing offense. Their strength is their running game, where they rank 11th. The Bucs are 19th and 20th in passing and rushing offense. The Panthers defense is slightly better overall, boosted by their passing defense, where they rank 14th and the Bucs 26th. The Bucs do have a better rushing defense where they rank 7th and the Panthers 18th. Red Zone defense has also been a problem for the Bucs, as they rank 30th in defensive red zone efficiency, giving up a TD on 68% of their opponents red zone possessions. 67% of the GridironAI spread models like the Panthers to cover at 2.5, and now it's at 3, which is the most important number in terms of margin of victory. The GridironAI team scoring model projects 45 total points; 24-21 in favor of the Panthers. This implies slight value on the over, and also confirms our play on the Panthers.

The night game should be the best game of the weekend. The battle for the #1 seed in the NFC. I like the Seahawks here. The line had been 1.5 all week, and steamed up to 2.5 yesterday with sharp money backing the Seahawks. I'd play it up to -3, but definitely not at -3.5. I think the Seahawks are the better team. This 49ers team is playing so much better than they should be, especially given all of their injuries. The difference in this game will be the Seahawks defense, where they rank #5, while the 49ers rank 18th. The 49ers offense has struggled against top defenses, scoring 17 against the Seahawks in their first matchup (albeit week 1), losing to the Texans and only scoring 15 points, and scoring 26 against the Browns, but their TD drives were only 16, 18, and 32 yards because of the Browns inept offense and turnover mistakes. The offenses are statistically pretty even. Both of these teams have issues with turnovers, and Purdy and Darnold can throw multiple interceptions in any given game. As long as the Seahawks don't give the ball away, they should easily win this game and control the 49ers offense. 60% of the GridironAI spead models like the Seahawks to cover. The GridironAI team scoring model projects 45 total points, implying slight value on the under.
