Browns vs. Jets Analysis
The Pillow Fight of the week. The game that will only be watched by people who bet on it. Both teams rank near the bottom of the league in offense, which isn't suprising given the the QBs are Dillon Gabriel, a rookie, and Justin Fields, the best running back that takes snaps in the league. But the difference between these teams are their defenses. The Browns boast a top 3 defense. The Jets, not so much. On top of that, the Jets just traded away 2 of their best defensive players; cornerback Sauce Gardner and defensive tackle Quinnen Williams. The Jets looked good on offense last week, putting up 39 points. But that was against the last ranked defense in the league in the Cincinnati Bungals. This should be one of those games where the Jets score 10-13 points. The Gridiron moneyline model likes the Browns. The moneyline model has been good with picking favorites this year, going 11-8, up 3.6U. Last year was up 13.3U. The Gridiron team total model projects 32 total points, which implies value on the Under 37.5.
Panthers vs. Saints Analysis
The second snooze fest game of the week. This one almost seems too easy. The Saints are bad. Really bad. Probably the worst team in the league. And now they've moved on from QB Spencer Baby Rattle, and are starting rookie QB Tyler Shough. In his 2 starts this season, the Saints have scored 3 and 10 points. The Saints also traded away their #2 WR, Rashid Shaheed. These teams are pretty relatively equal on defense. So it just makes sense to back the team that has the offense that can score. For as much as I rag on Bryce Young for being an inferior QB, he has somehow led the Panthers to being a 5-4 team. They've had 2 losses where they got crushed, but those were against Playoff caliber teams in the Bills and Patriots. I think the Panthers have a field day against the Aints. The GridironAI spread models likes the Panthers to cover at 68%! The GridironAI team scoring models has the Panthers winning by a score of 26-17. With a projection of 43 points, there is value on the Over 38.5.
