This is another one of those bets I have to make based on math, but won't be surprised if I'm on the wrong side. But hey, it worked taking the Panthers. The Steelers haven't lost a MNF game since 1992. Interesting fact, certainly not the reason to be on this side. The Texans are red hot, coming into the playoffs on a 9 game winning streak. The Steelers are somehow 10-7 despite having both an offense and defense that ranks in the bottom 10. Their savior is defensive turnovers, where they rank 4th. The problem is, they are going against a Texans defense that ranks #1, and also #3 in forced turnovers. Both teams also rank top 10 in sacks as well as fewest sacks allowed. Like the Steelers, this Texans offense is also nothing to write home about. With the stats, the edge is definitely with the Texans because of their defense. But here's what the Steelers have going for them. 1) Head coaching. Mike Tomlin is a much better coach than DeMeco Ryans, and has a lot more playoff experience, 2) QB experience. Aaron Rodgers has played in a bazillion playoff games, CJ Stroud has played in 4. 3) The game is in Pittsburgh where it will be in the upper 20 degrees. The Texans really haven't played a cold weather game this season. During their 9 game win streak, all of the games were in domes or warm weather locations. The only game that was actual below 70 degrees for them was against the Chiefs, where it was 42 degrees. CJ Stroud has played very badly in his handful of cold weather games. Both of his playoff wins were in domes or warm weather, and he lost both of his outdoor cold weather starts.
